OVERVIEW OF THE SYSTEM Renovate critical substrates quickly and effectively. Renovating substrates with cracks and a low load bearing capacity often poses a major challenge. It is particularly problematic if insufficient sealing measures cause permanent moisture from the substrate, which may impair the stability and service life of building components in the long term. Furthermore, removing the screed is extremely time consuming and laborious, which results in a great deal of wasted time and money. Treating individual cracks with reaction resin is also often very time-intensive and complicated.

The THERMOPAL floor renovation system removes the need to treat cracks individually and restores the load bearing capacity of old substrates. In addition, it contributes to stabilising the substrate situation. Critical substrates can therefore be prepared for laying the following covering designs. Furthermore, it provides a sealing effect against rising dampness from the substrate. The THERMOPAL floor renovation system can extend the lifecycle of existing substrates significantly.

The THERMOPAL® floor renovation system enables fast and uncomplicated renovation of substrates with a low load bearing capacity, which have moisture damage and cracks. 3.
Substrates with cracks, limited load bearing capacity and dampness pose a special challenge when renovating and therefore require targeted measures. The THERMOPAL floor renovation system offers an effective solution for this, as it both stabilises the substrate and protects against rear soaking from the substrate.

PRODUCTS IN DETAIL Overview of the products from the system. Substrates with cracks, limited load bearing capacity and dampness represent a demanding task when renovating and therefore require targeted measures. The THERMOPAL floor renovation system offers an effective solution by enabling comprehensive stabilisation and waterproofing. Using products such as ASODUR-SG3-thix, a thixotropic epoxy resin barrier primer enables damp substrates to be treated reliably. ASOCRET-HFF, a cementitious industrial coating, ensures high resilience and protection against mechanical effects.
The RD-SK 50 self-adhesive edging strip protects against the back floating possibility and minimises acoustic bridges. To stabilise the system layout, the ASO-RSG crack prevention fabric offers outstanding crack bridging and stabilisation. Overall, this system extends the lifecycle of existing substrates and guarantees sustainable renovation.

THERMOPAL® floor renovation system | ASO®-RSG
ASO®-RSG The crack prevention fabric with 4-dimensional movement accommodation. ASO-RSG is a specially woven reinforcement fabric with 4-dimensional movement accommodation for safe crack bridging and repairing substrates that are not load-bearing. Thanks to the special fabric bond, it’s not just horizontal and vertical forces that are absorbed, but diagonal movements are compensated safely. As part of the THERMOPAL floor renovation system, it removes the need for time-consuming individual crack treatment and restores the load bearing capacity of old substrates. In addition, it contributes to stabilising the substrate situation. Critical substrates can therefore be prepared for laying the following covering designs.

THERMOPAL® APPLICATION Application recommendation for the THERMOPAL® floor renovation system SUBSTRATE PREPARATION 1.
Remove low strength components using diamond grinding or shot blasting. Vacuum the substrate to ensure that it is dust-free.
Apply the RD-SK50 self-adhesive edging strips to the wall-floor transition and the rising building components in advance. If the floor/wall transition is missing, establish the waterproofing level in advance.

Cut the ASO-RSG to the relevant length. Place fabric strips onto the prepared substrate with the printed side facing up. Maintain a gap of at least 3 cm to rising building components. Overlap the ends of the strips by at least 20 mm.

Coat the surface with ASODUR-SG3-thix. Use a rubber pusher and a nylon roller to apply the coating evenly. Then roll over the surface again and level it. Use plenty of 0.5 - 1.0 mm fire-cured quartz sand to sand off the freshly-applied coat of ASODUR-SG3-thix evenly.

After approx. 12 hours, brush and vacuum the surface to completely remove the excess quartz sand. Then use the ASOCRET-HFF cementitious industrial flooring to rework the surface. Use the spiked roller to de-aerate the fresh levelling compound directly after applying it. In order to protect the surface further, we recommend using the required colour of ASODUR-V360W to rework the hardened surface.
