Preparing the surface 1. Check the application substrate and determine the moisture content using the CM method. 2. Remove impurities, adhesion-reducing substances and binder accumulations/laitance layers. 3. Prime absorbent substrates with ASO-Unigrund-GE, ASO-Unigrund-K or ASO-Unigrund-PLUS. 4. Prime non-absorbent substrates with ASO-Unigrund-S or ASO-Unigrund-PLUS. 5. Prime calcium sulphate screeds with a residual moisture content of max. 1.2 CM-% with ASO-Unigrund-PLUS.
Application Mixing 1. Fill the water into a clean mixing bucket and mix with the powder component with a stirrer to produce a homogeneous, lump-free mass. 2. Do not mix more material than can be applied during the pot life.
Application 1. Spread the mixed mortar evenly across the substrate surface and comb through with a suitable notched trowel to suit the board size. 2. Apply the surfacing materials within the adhesive open time. 3. For tile formats with an area of 0.25 m² or more per tile and/or an edge length of > 60 cm, a scratch coat should be applied to the back. 4. For laying on ‘green’ cement-based/calcium sulphate screeds, a scratch coat must be applied to the back. 5. When using a tile levelling system, the tightening wedge must be driven in or the rotating cap must be tightened within the bonding open time of the applied thin-bed mortar.
Cleaning tools Clean tools thoroughly with water after use.
Commissioning of floor heating systems 1. Underfloor heating can be put into regular operation after 7 days. 2. For coverings that were laid on ‘green’ cement-based screeds, the any existing floor heating system must be commissioned and documented in accordance with the Schomburg MONOFLEX-S2 heating protocol.
Storage conditions Storage Store in a cool and dry place. Min. 12 months in the original canister. Promptly use opened container.
Disposal Product residues can be disposed of in accordance with disposal code AVV 17 01 01.
Emission behaviour / building certification systems Very low emissions in accordance with GEV-EMICODE, which normally results in positive evaluations within the scope of building certification systems in accordance with DGNB, LEED, BREEAM, HQE. Maximum quality level 4, line 8 in accordance with DGNB criteria "ENV 1.2 Risks to the local environment".

Technical data sheet MONOFLEX-S2 Notes The installation of tiles and natural stone coverings on ‘green’ substrates or cement-based screeds (< 28 days) with an increased residual moisture of > 2.0 CM-% or calcium sulphate screeds with an increased residual moisture content of > 0.5 CM-% is a special construction which deviates from the applicable recognised rules of technology and/or the relevant DIN standards. When laying tiles in large or mega format, the tile manufacturer’s laying instructions and product data sheets must be observed. When laying natural stone and synthetic stone, the product-specific properties of the coating materials (tendency to discolour, risk of curling, etc.) and the laying recommendations of the manufacturer must be taken into account. We recommend carrying out trial laying! Rooms, surfaces and building components that expect water exposure after DIN 18534, DIN 18531 and DIN 18535 must be protected by bonded waterproofing. Calcium sulphate screeds must be protected with the ASO®-Unigrund-GE, ASO®-Unigrund-K or ASO®-Unigrund-PLUS primers prior to laying. Calcium sulphate screeds must be protected with a barrier primer (e.g. ASODUR®-GBM) when laying large format tiles. Do not stir or add water to existing material that has already set in order to make it workable again. Use a barrier primer such as ASODUR®-GBM to protect substrates that are sensitive to moisture, such as magnesite screeds, from direct contact. Protect the product from water, frost, draughts, direct sunlight and mechanical loads until it has dried completely.
Relevant regulations Planning, inspection of substrates and building site circumstances, laying, grouting and subsequent care of the work must be done in accordance with the relevant DIN standards and recognised rules of technology (e.g. the ZDB Data sheets of the Zentralverband Deutsches Baugewerbe e.V.(German construction Association) in the latest version.
