External waterproofing of basements - with Bitumen

Key Facts

1 Evening out the substrate (if required)

Level the surface with ASOCRET-M30 in one or with AQUAFIN-1K in a minimum of two coats by trowel or with suitable spray equipment.

2 Waterproofing wall-floor junctions

At the wall/floor transition, construct a waterproof fillet with ASOCRET-M30. Apply a bonding slurry beforehand. This can be with either ASOCRET-M30 or AQUAFIN-1K. Alternatively, the waterproof fillet can be produced from ASO-Dichtband-2000-S.

3 Waterproofing pipe penetrations

Apply COMBIDIC-2K-PREMIUM with a 4 mm notched trowel and smoothen, bond the ADF-pipe gasket without folds and then completely overcoat.

4 Waterproofing the foundation base transition

Apply a minimum of 2 coats of AQUAFIN-RB400 with a brush, steel float or suitable spray equipment. Install up to at least 30 cm above and at least 20 cm below the ground level.

5 Priming

Before using COMBIDIC-2K-PREMIUM or COMBIDIDC-2K-CLASSIC, the substrate must be primed with ASOL-FE, diluted 1:5 with water.

6 Polymer modified bitumen coating - waterproofing

Apply COMBIDIC-2K-PREMIUM, COMBIDIC-2K-CLASSIC by trowel at a thickness appropriate for the type of moisture exposure. Apply the high build bitumen coating with a minimum 10 cm overlap over the foundation base waterproofing (picture 4).

7 Protective and drainage board

Once the waterproof coating has dried, apply blobs of the high build coating to the unlaminated side of a suitable protection and drainage element and press onto the substrate, which has been waterproofed.

8 Perimeter insulation

Coller l‘isolant conformément aux instructions du fabricant, serré, en décalant d‘une rangée à l‘autre, sur toute sa surface, avec COMBIDIC-2K-CLASSIC ou COMBIDIC-2K-PREMIUM.
